On June 30, Ukraine will be hit by extreme heat, with temperatures reaching +38°C
The last day of June will bring abnormally high temperatures to Ukraine, reaching dangerous levels of +38°C in some regions.
The most intense heat is expected in the western regions, while the rest of the country will also suffer from temperatures significantly above normal.
Renowned meteorologist Natalka Didenko announced the weather forecast for June 30, noting that Ukraine is currently under the influence of intense air masses.
“After all, Ukraine is Europe,” the meteorologist remarked ironically, commenting on the Europe-wide trend of rising temperatures.
She added that June is ending at the peak of the summer heatwave, which has swept across nearly all regions.
The distribution of temperature records will be as follows: in the west of the country, temperatures are forecast to range from +33°C to +38°C. In the northern regions, temperatures will range from +30 to +34°C, except in the Sumy region, where it will be slightly cooler—+27 to +29°C.
In the central and southern regions, temperatures will reach +30...+35°C, while in the east, more comfortable temperatures of +26...+29°C are expected.
Despite generally dry conditions, brief showers are possible in some areas. Thunderstorms are possible tonight in the central regions, and on the evening of June 30 in the far west of Ukraine.
“By the way! Already today, June 29, thunderstorms—in some places accompanied by heavy, brief downpours and squalls—are expected in the north, west, and in some parts of the central region,” Natalka Didenko noted.
Kyiv will also be in the epicenter of the heatwave on Tuesday, with daytime temperatures expected to reach up to +34°C and no significant precipitation.
At the same time, thunderstorms and gusty winds are forecast for the capital on the evening of June 29, which will serve as a brief test before tomorrow’s heatwave.
