Law enforcement officials uncovered a cocaine smuggling ring operating in Ukraine and seized a shipment of drugs worth approximately 52,000 U.S. dollars. According to the investigation, the drugs—in particularly large quantities—were intended for sale within Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers detained a Ukrainian citizen while he was attempting to sell one kilogram of cocaine. During a search of the suspect, officers seized four bricks weighing approximately 250 grams each. A forensic analysis confirmed that the seized substance is a particularly dangerous narcotic—cocaine.

The man was notified of the charges against him under Parts 2 and 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition, possession, transportation, and sale of narcotics in particularly large quantities). The court ordered him to be held in pretrial detention without the right to bail.

This was reported on July 10 by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

As a reminder, an international drug trafficking ring with a turnover of ₴13 million was dismantled in Zakarpattia.

In Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, law enforcement officers exposed a married couple who organized a large-scale distribution of drugs and psychotropic substances, concealing them in children’s books, clothing, and boxes that had previously contained electronics.
