The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has retained jurisdiction over the Tymoshenko case

On July 3, the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court denied a request by Yulia Tymoshenko, a member of parliament and leader of the “Batkivshchyna” faction, to transfer her criminal case to another court. The High Anti-Corruption Court will continue to hear the case in which the politician is accused of offering unlawful benefits to members of parliament.

“On July 3, 2026, a panel of judges from the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court considered a motion filed by the defendant—the leader of one of the parliamentary factions in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine—to transfer the materials of the criminal case from the High Anti-Corruption Court to another court,” the statement reads.

Following the review, the panel of judges of the VAKS Appeals Chamber denied the defendant’s motion.

According to the pre-trial investigation authority, the member of parliament is accused of offering an unlawful benefit to members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The decision took legal effect upon its announcement and is not subject to appeal.

This was reported by the Press Service of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Earlier, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) concluded their investigation into the case involving an alleged bribe offer to members of parliament by Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the Batkivshchyna party, and made the case files available to the defense prior to the trial. The lawmaker herself did not appear for the review.

As a reminder, the court lifted the seizure of some of Yulia Tymoshenko’s and her husband’s property.
