Artem Romanyukov has been appointed head of the AOZ pending the competitive selection process
The Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency unanimously approved the appointment of Artem Romanyukov as interim acting head of the Agency. He will serve as the agency’s head until the competitive selection process for a permanent head is completed.
It is noted that the decision was made after his candidacy was approved by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The search for a permanent head and members of the Supervisory Board is ongoing
To find a permanent head of the Agency, the agency is preparing to contract with a recruitment firm; the competitive selection process is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
At the same time, AOZ has signed an agreement with the recruitment firm Friisberg & Partners International, which will conduct the search for candidates for two positions as independent members of the Supervisory Board.
The process is being coordinated by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with the participation of the recruitment partner and the Appointments and Remuneration Committee of the JSC’s Supervisory Board; the selection is expected to be completed in the near future.

“Artem Romanyukov has extensive experience in the field of defense procurement and public administration. He previously headed the Procurement Policy Department at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and served as Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine,” the statement reads.
Previously, he served as Director of Development at the Defense Procurement Agency.

The Defense Procurement Agency denied that it had suspended contracting.
