Artem Shilo joined the VAKS meeting right from behind the wheel
A former adviser to the Office of the President and former head of an SBU department participated in the court hearing via video link while behind the wheel of a car.
This was reported by a UA.NEWS correspondent from the courtroom.
As a reminder, the court is considering his plea agreement with prosecutors. A prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) stated that agreements had already been reached on plea bargains with Artem Shil and Konstantin Melnik (the other defendant) and requested that Shil’s case be separated into a separate proceeding. The court agreed.
Next, the High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) must approve the agreement, the details of which are not yet known.
And while the court is deciding the case involving the embezzlement of hundreds of millions of hryvnias, one of the defendants decided that the hearing could just as well be held on the road. A rather telling way to show his attitude toward the court.
As a reminder, Shilo’s partner may be the organizer of the arms exhibition that was attacked by Russians.
Artem Shilo is implicated in a case involving a 15 million hryvnia procurement scheme at Ukrzaliznytsia.
