Azerbaijan has announced its readiness to supply gas to Ukraine

Azerbaijan is ready, if necessary, to begin supplying natural gas to Ukraine and to expand cooperation with Kyiv in the field of energy security. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov made this statement on August 6 during a visit to the Ukrainian capital.

According to the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the country currently exports natural gas to 16 countries, 12 of which are in Europe.

“Azerbaijan supplies gas to 16 countries around the world, 12 of which are in Europe. We would be happy to supply gas to Ukraine as well, if necessary,” Bayramov said.

At the same time, he emphasized that cooperation between Kyiv and Baku could extend beyond energy supplies. According to him, the parties have the potential to collaborate on strengthening energy security in the broader region.

The statement was made during an official visit by an Azerbaijani delegation to Kyiv. During the talks, the parties also discussed bilateral relations, the development of economic cooperation, Ukraine’s preparations for the heating season, and issues of regional energy security.
