In Bila Tserkva, a driver crashed into a curb and a minibus and struck a woman at a bus stop

On August 6, in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Oblast, the driver of a VAZ lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a curb, then into a shuttle bus, and struck a 53-year-old woman at a bus stop. The victim was hospitalized, and the police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.

 

In Bila Tserkva, in the Kyiv region, a passenger car driver crashed into a curb, then into a minibus, and finally into a woman standing at a bus stop.

According to preliminary findings by law enforcement, the 44-year-old driver of a VAZ car failed to maintain a safe speed, veered off the roadway, and crashed into the curb, after which the car collided with a WDL minibus that was stopped at the bus stop and was letting passengers on and off.

The driver of the car then struck a 53-year-old female pedestrian who was at the public transit stop. As a result of the accident, the victim sustained injuries and was hospitalized.

Investigators from the Bila Tserkva District Police Department have launched a pre-trial investigation (Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), according to the Kyiv Regional Police.

Earlier, teenagers were involved in a fatal traffic accident in the Kyiv region.

As a reminder, the Pryluky City and District Court in Chernihiv Oblast sentenced a former police officer to eight years in prison for a fatal traffic accident that resulted in the death of a six-year-old child.

In the Lviv region, a 68-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, who was under the influence of alcohol, fatally struck a Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemember. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
