A scheme involving fictitious employment to obtain a deferment was uncovered in Lutsk
In Lutsk, police have notified a group of officials at one of the lyceums that they are under suspicion of organizing a scheme to falsely employ men of draft age.
According to the investigation, more than 1.7 million hryvnias in salaries and bonuses were illegally paid out through this scheme.
The investigation found that the school’s administration, the secretary, and a teacher hired 12 men as teaching assistants, even though they did not actually work. Some of them used the fictitious employment to obtain a deferment from mobilization.
According to law enforcement officials, the fictitious employees returned nearly 1 million hryvnias of the accrued funds to the scheme’s organizers, while two other men each paid $2,000 to be hired for the positions. The military draft reservations for five of the suspects have already been revoked, and relevant procedures are ongoing for the others.
