Zelenskyy Dismissed Four Ukrainian Ambassadors: Who Was Affected by the Changes
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has decided to dismiss four ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ukraine. The personnel changes affect the heads of diplomatic missions in four countries.
Specifically, this includes Ukraine’s ambassadors to Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, and Pakistan. The relevant decrees issued by the head of state were published on the president’s official website.
The reasons for the diplomats’ dismissals are not specified in the announcement. It is currently unknown who will become the new heads of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions in these countries.
The following individuals have left their posts:
- Vasyl Kyrylych – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Croatia;
- Volodymyr Shkurov – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Albania;
- Oleg Gerasymenko – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Montenegro;
- Marko Chuchuk – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The head of state signed the relevant decrees on August 6. No documents regarding the new appointments to these diplomatic posts have been published yet.
As a reminder, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Vasyl Zvarych, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, will transfer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they will serve as deputy ministers. Both officials have many years of experience in the diplomatic field and within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
