The BEB has referred a case involving large-scale truck smuggling to court
Detectives from the Territorial Directorate of the State Bureau of Investigation in Lviv Oblast have completed a pre-trial investigation and filed an indictment with the court regarding the illegal import of vehicles under the guise of humanitarian aid.
The organizer of the scheme imported MAN trucks into Ukraine on a massive scale to avoid paying mandatory customs duties to the state budget.
The investigation established that the perpetrator had established a clear scheme for purchasing trucks in European Union countries and subsequently moving them illegally through the Lviv customs office.
To conceal the illegal activity, completely fictitious documents were prepared for the vehicles.

In customs declarations, the suspect deliberately listed the details of a well-known charitable organization that, in reality, did not engage in any humanitarian activities and had no connection to these vehicles.
To directly transport the vehicles across the state border, the organizer enlisted third parties who were completely unaware of his criminal scheme.
The hired drivers picked up the trucks in EU countries and, during customs inspections, officially declared them as free aid for Ukraine.
In this way, the perpetrator managed to illegally transport four MAN trucks, with a total value of over 2 million UAH.
