Belgium will transfer three more F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of the year

Ukraine will receive three F-16 fighter jets from Belgium by the end of 2026. The transfer of the aircraft is planned to take place under an expedited procedure.

“There is an important agreement with Belgium regarding the transfer of three F-16 fighter jets to us by the end of this year. We will expedite the process of receiving these aircraft,” the statement reads.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has already received emergency shipments of ammunition for the F-16s from Belgium and other countries, including Spain.

"As Russia escalates its aggression every day, we need to increase our capabilities to shoot down aerial targets and protect people. I thank Belgium, Prime Minister Bart De Wever, and the entire government for their decisive steps in support of Ukraine in response to Russia’s brutal attacks on civilian lives,” the president concluded.

Zelenskyy stated that the European Union and the IMF are ready to support Ukraine due to the budget deficit.

In western Germany, 39% of those surveyed consider arms supplies to Ukraine excessive, while in the east of the country, 54% of respondents share this view. 

As a reminder, 44.8% of Polish citizens believe that the military aid provided to Ukraine after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion was too extensive. 

Earlier, Polish Presidential Spokesperson Rafał Leskiewicz criticized the decision by Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz to declassify information about the military aid Poland provided to Ukraine between 2022 and 2026. He stated that such data should not be made public.

As a reminder, there was outrage in Poland over the alleged secret transfer of scarce Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
