About 200 men were falsely listed as teachers in order to obtain a deferment

In Kyiv and Lviv, authorities uncovered an organized group that had been illegally employing men subject to military service as teachers at a private educational institution for over two years. In this way, approximately 200 men attempted to obtain a deferment from mobilization. Eight participants in the scheme were detained as part of the investigation.

According to the investigation, during this time, approximately 200 people obtained deferments through the Territorial Recruitment Center and the Specialized Recruitment Office in various regions of Ukraine.

Eight members of the group were detained, including the director of a private vocational and technical education institution and two lawyers. They have been notified of charges under Part 3 of Article 28 and Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation established that the organizers renewed the educational institution’s license in Kyiv, opened a branch in Lviv, and set up facilities to simulate the educational process. In exchange for a fee of at least 5,000 U.S. dollars, they falsely registered individuals subject to military service as teachers, produced forged personnel, accounting, and academic documents, and submitted reports to the tax authorities regarding their alleged employment. Separately, clients paid funds to cover payroll and tax payments.

As part of the investigation, 30 searches were conducted. The suspects were subject to preventive measures in the form of detention and house arrest.

In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
