"Fighting corruption is possible by moving away from 'manual control' and establishing rules," says Budanov
Overcoming corruption in Ukraine is possible only if we move away from micromanaging government processes and eliminate informal influence on decision-making.
This was stated by the Head of the Office of the President, Kirill Budanov.
He shared this position on Telegram following his participation in the conference “Operation ‘European Integration’: Reforms in the Justice Sector.”
According to Budanov, it is precisely opaque management mechanisms that create conditions for abuse, while clear and uniform rules for everyone reduce corruption risks.
“Manual control within the government system is fertile ground for the growth of corruption. After all, where transparent, understandable, and—most importantly—uniform rules for everyone prevail instead of ‘telephone law’ and manual control, it becomes very difficult for corruption to survive,” he emphasized.
Separately, the head of the Office of the President called on citizens to cooperate with government agencies in the fight against corruption, emphasizing the importance of openness to public initiatives.
“I invite all active citizens to cooperate with the Office of the President, including in the fight against corruption. We are open to sound initiatives and constructive proposals, because only through unity can we achieve results,” Budanov added.
