Britain has sent a new shipment of fire trucks to Ukraine

The United Kingdom continues to step up its support for Ukrainian rescue workers. The ninth humanitarian convoy has set off for Ukraine, carrying 21 fire trucks for the State Emergency Service.

This aid is of critical importance for protecting Ukrainian cities, the civilian population, and rescue workers who face the threat of Russian shelling every day.

This is much more than just the delivery of 21 fire trucks. It’s about protecting Ukrainian cities and saving the lives of civilians and rescue workers who are being targeted by the Russians,” Zaluzhny emphasized.

The ambassador expressed his gratitude to the British government, the fire and rescue services of England and Wales, and all partners who contributed to this initiative.

Zaluzhnyy specifically highlighted the work of the British charity FIRE AID UK, which has been supporting Ukrainian rescue workers since 2014. After the outbreak of full-scale war in 2022, the organization, together with the British government and international partners, launched the largest-scale aid program for Ukraine’s fire and rescue services.

As part of this project, Ukraine has already received 169 fire and rescue vehicles and more than 250,000 pieces of specialized equipment.

The United Kingdom’s support helps strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian rescue workers, who daily deal with the aftermath of Russian attacks and save people’s lives.

This was announced by Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom.

Earlier, Slovakia delivered a shipment of modern medical equipment worth over 340,000 euros to Ukraine, which was received by hospitals in Vinnytsia and Kyiv. Officials in Bratislava emphasize that this is part of systematic humanitarian support during the war and an investment in the development of Ukrainian medicine.
