Six regions of Ukraine are without power due to shelling
As a result of attacks on energy infrastructure facilities, new power outages have been reported in six regions of Ukraine.
This was reported by NPC "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.
"The enemy continues to carry out attacks on energy infrastructure. As a result, as of this morning, there are new power outages in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kherson regions. Emergency restoration work has already begun wherever security conditions currently permit," the statement reads.
It is noted that electricity consumption has increased. Today, April 23, as of 9:30 a.m., consumption was 4.9% higher than at the same time the previous day—Wednesday. The reason for the increase is a drop in temperature compared to the previous day, as well as cloudy weather across much of Ukraine, which reduces the efficiency of residential solar power plants.
Yesterday, April 22, the daily peak consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 1.5% lower than the peak of the previous day—Tuesday, April 21. The reason was a brief warming in most regions.
Ukrenergo emphasized that there remains a need for conservative electricity consumption during the evening hours today. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Due to shellingand bad weather, power outages have occurred in 15 regions — Ukrenergo.
