A man carrying a knife at a protest in Lviv was admitted to a psychiatric hospital
In Lviv, a 32-year-old resident of Novoyavorivsk, who was detained with a knife during a rally in support of Mykhailo Fedorov, was admitted to a specialized medical facility.
Law enforcement officials determined that the detainee had previously been charged with a criminal offense and suffers from mental disorders. A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the illegal handling of weapons.
This was reported by the Lviv Regional Police.
According to law enforcement, the suspect was wearing a balaclava and was walking toward the speakers at the event, which was taking place near the Taras Shevchenko monument, with a knife hidden behind his back. Participants in the rally detained the man on their own and handed him over to police officers. The police have already identified the detainee and are investigating all the circumstances of the incident.
Earlier, Zelenskyy had offered Fedorov either a position on the National Security and Defense Council or the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation. Fedorov declined, arguing that only the position of Minister of Defense provides the necessary real authority to combat corruption in procurement.
A majority of Ukrainians opposed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decision to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of defense minister.

Valeriy Zaluzhny has the highest level of trust among officials, politicians, and public figures—70%. Mykhailo Fedorov is trusted by 65% of those surveyed, Kyrylo Budanov by 62%, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy by 59%. Oleksandr Usyk is trusted by 54% of respondents, Oleksandr Syrskyi by 23%, and Petro Poroshenko by 21%.
