The rules for men under 60 to enter the civil service will be changed

Ukraine has passed a law requiring men under the age of 60 to have military or equivalent service experience in order to enter the civil service. 

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

The new rules will take effect no earlier than one year after the end or lifting of martial law.

Now, to qualify, one must have one of the following types of experience:
— military service;
— service in the reserves;
— service in security and defense agencies;
— military training under the reserve officer program.

At the same time, the requirement to complete basic general military training has been abolished.

An exception is provided for individuals who are unfit for service due to health reasons.

The same requirements will apply to candidates for local government and to prosecutors.
