A NATO delegation led by Mark Rutte paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and representatives of all NATO member countries paid tribute to fallen Ukrainian soldiers at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv.
This ceremony marked the start of the NATO North Atlantic Council’s visit to Ukraine.
“We began the NATO North Atlantic Council’s visit to Ukraine by honoring the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers at the Wall of Remembrance,” Zelenskyy noted.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, as well as the permanent representatives and deputy permanent representatives of all 32 member states of the North Atlantic Alliance.
The President emphasized the importance of such a gesture of support from Ukraine’s partners.
“We appreciate this sign of respect from Alliance representatives toward our soldiers, who defended our country and all of Europe from Russian evil. It is very important to remember each and every one of them, thanks to whom we have the opportunity to live freely and choose our way of life. May the memory of the fallen Ukrainian defenders live on. Eternal honor to the heroes!” Zelenskyy emphasized.
Honoring the memory of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers was one of the key events of the NATO delegation’s visit to Kyiv, demonstrating the Alliance’s support for Ukraine amid ongoing Russian aggression.
