A member of the Kherson Regional Council will stand trial for aiding agribusiness in the interests of the Russian Federation
A member of the Kherson Regional Council of the 8th convocation has been charged with aiding and abetting economic activities in collaboration with the aggressor state and the occupying authorities.
According to the investigation, after the occupation of Kakhovka, the owners of two agricultural enterprises did not cease operations and continued to grow and sell grains and oilseeds to Russian grain traders. The enterprises adopted Russian legislation, paid taxes to the occupying authorities, and received subsidies from Russia.
According to the investigation, the lawmaker helped ensure the enterprises’ continued operation. In particular, he facilitated the obtaining of permits from the occupying administration for land cultivation, the registration of vehicles and equipment, the supply of fuel, and the hiring of workers. He also organized an accounting and reporting system.
In May 2026, law enforcement officers detained the deputy in territory controlled by Ukraine. He is charged under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The owners of the agricultural enterprises and the director of one of them were separated into a separate proceeding. They were notified of the charges in absentia and placed on the wanted list.
