Nine children injured: An investigation is underway in Khmelnytskyi into the case of a language center director
Law enforcement officials have identified nine female victims in the case involving the director of a language center in Khmelnytskyi. The man is charged with 14 crimes, which, according to the investigation, were committed between 2004 and 2025.
The number of children who may have been victimized by the illegal actions of the director of the foreign language center has risen to nine. Investigators are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the case and verify the information received.
Under the procedural supervision of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pretrial investigation is underway regarding the director of one of the foreign language learning centers in Khmelnytskyi, who is suspected of committing criminal offenses against the sexual freedom and sexual integrity of children (Part 1 of Article 156 and Part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), according to a post by the Prosecutor General.
According to available information, at the time the man was notified of the charges in August of this year, there were two female victims, aged 13 and 14.
During the subsequent investigation, law enforcement officials identified seven additional minors and young girls who had been victimized by the suspect’s unlawful actions. Currently, the criminal proceedings have identified nine victims against whom 14 criminal offenses were committed between 2004 and 2025, the post states.
These offenses include sexual exploitation of minors (Part 2 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as amended at the time the offenses were committed), sexual violence against persons under the age of 14 (Section 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), engaging in sexual acts with a person under the age of 16 (Part 1 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the sexual corruption of minors (Part 1 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, investigators and prosecutors are examining the circumstances of each incident and conducting the necessary investigative and procedural actions. They are also identifying other individuals who may have been victimized by the suspect’s actions. As part of the criminal proceedings, at the request of the prosecutors, he was placed in pretrial detention without the right to post bail.
