Ukrainians can receive up to 3,100 UAH in time for Independence Day
In 2026, certain categories of Ukrainians will receive a one-time payment in honor of Independence Day—the amount ranges from 450 to 3,100 UAH, depending on their status. The largest amount is earmarked for individuals with Group I war-related disabilities and those with special merits to the Motherland.
Pensioners will receive the benefit automatically along with their August pension via bank accounts or through Ukrposhta. Civilian recipients of housing subsidies and benefits will also have the funds credited to their accounts without having to submit additional applications. For military personnel, payments are made directly through military units and institutions based on submitted applications.
Citizens who are eligible for assistance but are not pensioners, do not receive a housing subsidy or benefit, and are not serving in the military must apply in person to the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU). The main deadline for submitting applications was August 1, but payments can be processed until October 1, 2026.
The highest payment, in the amount of 3,100 hryvnias, is provided for individuals with Group I war-related disabilities and those with special merits to the Motherland. Individuals with Group II war-related disabilities will receive 2,900 hryvnias, and those with Group III disabilities will receive 2,700 hryvnias. Combatants and victims of the Revolution of Dignity will each receive 1,000 hryvnias; family members of deceased veterans will receive 650 hryvnias; and war veterans and former concentration camp prisoners will receive 450 hryvnias.
