Former BEB detective Yashchuk declared his assets after being dismissed, but his assets may be confiscated

Oleg Yashchuk, the former head of the BEB’s detective division, filed a financial disclosure statement after leaving his position and joining Transcomgroup LLC.

In 2025, he received 711,000 UAH in salary from the BEB, as well as 120,000 UAH in income from his new job.

The declaration states that his family—his wife Valentina and two sons—owns a 50.5 m² apartment in Kyiv valued at 2.14 million UAH, a plot of land in the village of Nova Basan in Chernihiv Oblast, and an unfinished construction project—an apartment in the capital registered in his wife’s name.

Among the vehicles declared is a 2022 BMW X3, which is registered to a relative, Bohdana Zubets, but is used by his wife.

Cash assets include 3,000 euros in cash held by Yashchuk, as well as funds in accounts at PrivatBank, MTB Bank, and Universal Bank—totaling several tens of thousands of hryvnias.

In addition, the declaration lists a loan to a third party for 75,000 UAH and funds that his wife lent to another individual—400,000 UAH.

At the same time, the document contains no information regarding securities, corporate rights, or other significant financial assets.

However, according to the international detective agency Absolution, the SAPO, based on information from the NACP, is seeking the special confiscation of certain assets, specifically a BMW X3 and a Toyota Camry, which were registered to third parties.

It is reported that the BMW is registered to a relative, and the Toyota to an acquaintance of Yashchuk, who cannot explain the origin of the funds used to purchase the car.

Also, according to available information, Yashchuk may own real estate abroad—in Dubai and Vienna.

A lawsuit has already been filed with the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare part of this property unjustified, and the total value of the assets under investigation is estimated at nearly 4 million hryvnias.

The fight for transparency at the Economic Security Bureau may be hindered by representatives of the previous leadership. Among them, the media name Oleg Yashchuk, the former head of the detective division of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine.

As a reminder, earlier, a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, based on materials from the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK) and independently gathered evidence, filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court seeking to declare as unjustified the assets used during the 2023–2024 period by Oleg Yashchuk, the former head of the detective division of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, and his wife. The property used by the Yashchuk family was registered to a relative and a close friend of the official. The total value of the potentially illicitly acquired assets amounts to nearly 4 million hryvnias.
