Former head of the Zaporizhzhia Territorial Customs Center loses appeal: the state will confiscate his property

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the ruling declaring the assets of the family of the former head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Territorial Control Center to be of unjustified origin.

This was reported by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP).

The assets in question are valued at over 3.8 million hryvnias, including a house with a land plot, two cars, and $20,000.

As the agency established, the official and his family members purchased the assets with cash, while their official income was spent primarily via non-cash transactions. The analysis showed that it was impossible to acquire such property through legal means.

The court ruled to confiscate the house with the land, as well as the value of one of the cars—over 786,000 hryvnias—for the state.

The appellate court’s decision took effect immediately upon being announced.

In Ukraine, in May 2026, mobilization rules will remain in effect without changes if martial law is extended. The draft procedure, as before, will depend on age, military status, and the presence of a deferment.

As a reminder, parents with multiple children in Ukraine are entitled to a deferment from mobilization, but this is not automatically guaranteed.
