The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine have caught SBU investigators and a lawyer taking bribes

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) detained the head of the investigative department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Poltava Oblast, his subordinate, and a lawyer while they were receiving an illegal benefit. The investigation established that these individuals had demanded $110,000 from a business owner.

This was reported by the primary source, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

In exchange for this sum, the suspects promised to secure a plea agreement in a case involving economic activities in collaboration with an aggressor state. The case pertains to the supply of equipment to the Russian Federation through front companies in Kazakhstan. The perpetrators were apprehended immediately after receiving the second installment of $55,000.

Preliminary investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring those responsible to justice. Law enforcement officials emphasize that corrupt assistance to businesses collaborating with the enemy is unacceptable and will be punished in accordance with the law. Charges are being prepared against the detainees for receiving unlawful benefits on a large scale.

As a reminder, the organizer of a scheme to smuggle draft dodgers out of the country for $12,000 was detained in Kyiv.

Additionally, an employee of the TCC in Chernihiv Oblast was detained for bribery.
