On Monday, April 27, an explosion occurred in an apartment building in Lviv. One person is known to have died. Emergency and specialized services are on the scene investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The incident occurred on Yuri Lypa Street. Around 4:50 p.m., the police received a report of a fire in one of the apartments of the apartment building.
While extinguishing the fire, rescuers discovered a body. Police are currently identifying the deceased.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the causes of the explosion and fire. The legal classification of the incident will be determined after initial investigative actions are completed.
According to sources at "Suspilne" within law enforcement agencies, a detonator was found at the scene. Preliminary reports suggest a possible grenade explosion in the apartment building.
