A former official of the Regional Tax Service in Kirovohrad Oblast has been notified of charges related to unreported income
The former head of the Kropyvnytskyi Regional Tax and Customs Office has been notified of the charges against him. According to the Kirovohrad Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the official is suspected of making false declarations—specifically, of concealing his vehicle fleet and his family’s income. The investigation is ongoing.
Criminal proceedings were initiated based on the findings of a comprehensive audit by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK), which identified significant discrepancies in the submitted declaration.
According to the investigation, in the annual declaration for 2024, submitted in March 2025, the lieutenant colonel failed to disclose his family’s assets and income.
Specifically, the “Valuable Movable Property” section did not list three vehicles owned by family members:
- a 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid worth over 1 million UAH;
- a 2014 Volkswagen Touran and a 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, registered to his wife, with a combined value of approximately 1.3 million UAH.
Additionally, 200,000 UAH in income from his wife’s sale of a Kia Cerato was not declared. The total amount of undeclared assets is approximately 2.5 million UAH.
The official’s actions were classified under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (declaration of false information). Actual use of the undeclared vehicles was confirmed, in particular, by data from the “Safe City” video surveillance system.
It was also established that during a previous NACP audit of his 2023 declaration, violations had already been identified—at that time, the court found him guilty and imposed an administrative penalty. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, the Office of the Prosecutor General reports.
In Chernivtsi, law enforcement officials are investigating a possible scheme involving the embezzlement of budget funds during the procurement of quadcopters for military unit A7035. Criminal proceedings have been opened under articles regarding abuse of official position and misappropriation of property.
