Since the beginning of the year, more than 14.7 million square meters of roads have been repaired in Ukraine
Work is continuing in Ukraine to repair the road surface on national highways. Since the beginning of 2026, road crews have repaired damage to more than 14.7 million square meters of road.
This was reported by the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development of Ukraine.
The largest volume of repair work was carried out in the Mykolaiv region—1.61 million m². Also among the leaders are the Kirovohrad (1.54 million m²), Kyiv (1.52 million m²), Kharkiv (1.2 million m²), and Dnipropetrovsk (983,000 m²) regions.
On June 11 alone, road workers repaired 93,000 m² of road surface. The work was carried out on international and national highways in various regions of the country.
The Recovery Agency noted that going forward, the main focus will be on the operational maintenance of state-level roads and the restoration of routes in frontline regions. Priority will be given to roads that are of strategic importance for the Defense Forces, the evacuation of the population, and the provision of essential services to communities.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law ratifying a financial agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank for €134 million, which will be allocated to the restoration and development of road infrastructure.
The State Special Transport Service (SSTS) has become the sole contractor for road repair and maintenance work in the combat zone.
