Zelenskyy Responded to the Attack on Military Personnel at the TCC in Lviv

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the attack on military personnel at the territorial recruitment center in Lviv. The head of state stated that such treatment of people in military uniform is unacceptable, and that all circumstances of the incident must be thoroughly investigated.

 

According to Zelenskyy, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has already briefed him on the details of the incident. The president emphasized that law enforcement must conduct a legal assessment of all actions taken by those involved in the incident. “There are many questions regarding Lviv, yesterday’s situation, and the attack on servicemen at the Territorial Recruitment Center. In my view, this is a very serious incident and a very poor attitude toward people in military uniform. This should not be happening,” the head of state said.

The President emphasized that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct the investigation in accordance with current legislation. “Minister Klymenko briefed me on some details today. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will look into this within the framework of current legislation,” Zelenskyy said.

Separately, the head of state drew attention to the role of the Ministry of Defense. According to him, the ministry must also fulfill all of its previously stated obligations. “The Ministry of Defense must do everything—everything they promised,” the president emphasized. Zelenskyy did not specify exactly what steps the Ministry of Defense should take, but he made it clear that the situation requires a comprehensive response not only from law enforcement but also from military leadership.

The attack on TCC servicemen took place in Lviv on July 9. Following the incident, law enforcement launched an investigation to determine all the circumstances of the event. The president stressed that any violent conflicts involving people in military uniform are unacceptable, and those responsible must be held accountable under the law. The president made these remarks during a conversation with journalists. 

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that an increasing number of NATO member states openly support Ukraine’s future accession to the Alliance. According to him, allies highly value the Ukrainian army, the defense industry, and the combat experience Ukraine has gained during the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that an important turning point in the war is now unfolding for Ukraine. According to him, Russia no longer has the upper hand on the battlefield, and the main tool remaining at Vladimir Putin’s disposal is ballistic weapons.

Ukraine has received political approval to produce Patriot air defense missile systems, but a technical phase must still be completed before production can begin. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is already ready for this step, and now everything depends on the speed at which Ukrainian and American specialists can work.
