Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking to reporters, revealed details of his lengthy and constructive meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, which took place on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara.

During the talks, the heads of state focused on three main areas of discussion, with security emerging as the key priority. The leaders emphasized their complete mutual understanding that Russia remains the primary and sole threat to both countries.

The economic segment of the talks concerned the involvement of Polish businesses in the reconstruction process. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the high effectiveness of the recent conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction, held in Gdańsk, and reaffirmed Ukraine’s complete openness to cooperation with Polish partners.

During the meeting, the leaders paid special attention to complex historical issues. The Ukrainian head of state emphasized the importance of a balanced, sensitive, and constructive approach in this area to preserve strong, friendly, and good-neighborly relations between the Ukrainian and Polish peoples.

On July 8, at the NATO summit in Ankara, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki that lasted over an hour. The main topics of discussion were countering the common threat posed by Russia and the need to maintain mutual understanding between the two countries.

Earlier, Marcin Przydacz, head of the Polish President’s Office for International Policy, stated that the Ukrainian side had canceled the planned meetings between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
