Yermak did not respond to the invitation to enlist in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, — platoon commander Chornovol
Tetyana Chornovol, a combat officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that her public appeal to Andriy Yermak with a proposal to enlist in her platoon as a Mavic UAV pilot received no response.
She wrote about this on her Facebook.
‘Of course, I didn't believe it could be any other way, but he missed his chance, something courageous, incredible and special,’ Chornovol said.
The officer explained that many public figures who join the Armed Forces quickly become commanders thanks to their own qualities, but often lose the opportunity to experience the ‘satisfaction of doing the work themselves’ on the front line.
‘There is nothing comparable to the feeling when you find a position for the Stugna under fire, set it up, hide it, and your calculation proves correct — a tank is coming at you, and you guide the missile at it with your own hand. And your fire engulfs this monster... It's a rush,’ Chornovol wrote.
According to her, public figures in the army often try to maintain their status from day one, which prevents them from fully experiencing the reality of the front line.
She admitted that she herself fought for the right to ‘just be a soldier and work in the field.’
The officer emphasised that she offered Yermak the opportunity to personally participate in combat operations and ‘take out the Russians’ as a gift, but he did not take advantage of the chance.
Earlier, the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, who left his post after a search of his apartment, told Western media about his intention to go to the front line.
