Estonia has appointed a new ambassador to Ukraine

Estonian President Alar Karis has appointed Tiina Intellmann as Estonia’s new ambassador to Ukraine. She will succeed Anneli Kolk, who has represented the country in Kyiv since September 2023.

This was reported by ERR.

Tiina Intellmann has worked at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1991 and has extensive diplomatic experience.

She has previously held positions such as Estonian Ambassador to Israel, Estonian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and European Union Ambassador to Somalia.

Currently, Intellmann serves at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Special Representative for Multilateralism and Peace Mediation.

Intelman’s appointment marks a change in Estonia’s diplomatic representation in Ukraine amid ongoing cooperation between the countries in the areas of security and international support.

Estonia remains one of Ukraine’s most consistent allies in the EU and NATO, particularly regarding military aid and sanctions policy against Russia.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Oleksandr Balanutsa as Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
