The religious community of the village of Khoroshe Ozero in the Krutivska territorial community, located in Chernihiv Oblast, has officially changed its ecclesiastical jurisdiction and joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine

Previously, this parish was under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The decision was made by parishioners of the local St. Nicholas Church during a general community meeting.

This step serves as a significant testament to the important internal processes currently taking place in Ukrainian society. The village residents demonstrated unity and a clear civic stance on matters of faith.

The priest congratulated the faithful on adopting this historic decision for the entire region. He emphasized that this step reflects the people’s deep desire for independence and spiritual freedom.

The parishioners made their choice consciously and without any outside pressure.

Father Serhiy Chutchenko commented on the change in jurisdiction: “We sincerely congratulate the religious community of St. Nicholas Church in the village of Khoroshe Ozero on their free and conscious decision to join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This is an important event in the spiritual life of the community, which attests to the desire for unity within Ukrainian Orthodoxy, loyalty to the homeland, its spiritual traditions, and the future of an independent Ukrainian Church.”

Priest Serhiy Chutchenko announced the event on Facebook.
