At the “Shehyni” border crossing on the border with Poland, a 33-year-old Kyiv resident attempted to offer an illegal bribe to a border guard after he was unable to prove his right to leave Ukraine. This was reported on August 6 by the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment.

According to border guards, the man was traveling to Warsaw, and during a document check, it was discovered that he did not have all the necessary documents to cross the state border.

The Kyiv resident said he was rushing to a concert in the Polish capital. To “resolve the issue,” the man placed money on the border guard’s work computer, but the officer refused the bribe.

A report regarding this incident was sent to the National Police, indicating signs of a criminal offense under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—the offer, promise, or provision of an unlawful benefit to a public official.
