The head of NATO's Military Committee confirmed continued support for Ukraine

Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, confirmed the Alliance’s continued military support for Ukraine during his first conversation with Mykhailo Drapaty, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“During our conversation, I once again reaffirmed NATO’s continued military support, as Ukraine is courageously defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the admiral said.

According to him, NATO countries in Europe and North America are increasing defense production, expediting deliveries, and providing both their own nations and Ukraine with the necessary equipment.

“I have seen the courage of the Ukrainian people with my own eyes: the military is holding the line with extraordinary bravery to defend their homes, their families, and their freedom. Their resilience reminds us of what is at stake: not only Ukraine’s future, but the security of us all,” Dragone emphasized.

He stressed that support from allies is vital for Ukraine and has a direct impact on the situation.

“Ukraine’s security is our security, and we will continue to support Ukraine to help achieve a just and lasting peace,” Dragone stated.

Mykhailo Drapaty reported that during the conversation, special attention was given to air defense issues.

“Protecting our skies is my priority,” emphasized the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Drapatiy also briefed the admiral on the situation at the front and the main priorities of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, including long-range strikes, flexible infantry tactics, and the robotization of the front lines.

The Commander-in-Chief thanked Dragone for his personal stance and consistent support for Ukraine at the highest levels of the Alliance’s military leadership.

“The admiral has visited us three times, has seen the situation firsthand, and this comes across in our conversation,” Drapatiy noted.

According to Drapatiy, the NATO Military Committee is expected to make its first visit to Ukraine in eight years this October.

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that Ukraine not only receives military aid from its partners but also shares its own combat experience with its allies, which can strengthen the security of the entire Alliance.

“Ukraine isn’t just receiving support. We’re sharing combat experience that no one else has today, and it contributes to the security of the entire Alliance. Thank you to our allies. We’re working toward a common goal,” Drapatiy emphasized.

Dragone reported this on social media platform X.

In addition, Ukraine has appealed to NATO for international assistance to conduct humanitarian demining of war-affected territories.

On August 17, it was reported that, as part of a new training program for Ukrainian military personnel in Poland, courses on drone operation and electronic warfare had been canceled. Western instructors acknowledged that Ukrainian military personnel have significantly more combat experience in these areas and are now training their allies themselves.
