The head of the Medical and Social Examination Commission and several lawmakers were punished for filing inaccurate financial disclosures
In June 2026, Ukrainian courts held a number of officials accountable for making false declarations. Among them were the head of the Pervomaisk Interdistrict Medical and Social Examination Commission, local council members, and other officials.
The head of the Pervomaisk Interdistrict Medical and Social Examination Commission in Mykolaiv Oblast was found guilty of concealing 2.7 million hryvnias in his financial disclosure statement. The court fined him 68,000 UAH and barred him from holding leadership positions in healthcare institutions and expert teams for three years. The verdict has already taken legal effect.
Additionally, the Sofiivka District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast found a member of the Devladivka Village Council guilty of making false declarations totaling 8.6 million hryvnias. He was fined 51,000 UAH and barred for one year from holding positions related to the performance of state or local self-government functions.
In addition, in June, members of local councils, the head of a village council’s finance department, a member of a medical facility’s expert team, and an employee of the State Emergency Service were held administratively liable.
According to the NACP, during the first half of 2026, the agency completed 415 full audits of declarations, identifying violations in 412 of them. The total amount of identified violations exceeded 1.9 billion hryvnias.

The National Agency for Corruption Prevention has provided reasons why it does not need to verify the accuracy of the declaration submitted by Gennadiy Oleksandrovych Oborskyi, rector of the National University “Odessa Polytechnic,” who has been at the center of a scandal involving granting conscripts the opportunity to avoid mobilization during the war. Citing a list of laws and regulatory acts, the NACP has not investigated—and does not plan to investigate in 2026—Oborskyi’s assets or the sources of his income.
Currently, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) are continuing a pre-trial investigation into former Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi, who was dismissed amid a scandal.
Meanwhile, the NACP has exposed Verbytsky’s attempt to conceal his high-end properties by getting a divorce.
