Ireland will expedite the opening of new negotiation clusters for Ukraine within the EU

Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin stated that during his country’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, Dublin will work to open the next negotiation clusters regarding Ukraine’s accession to the EU as soon as possible.

During a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Martin noted that negotiations on the second cluster had been opened last week and assured that Ireland would make every effort to advance the negotiation process as quickly as possible.

In addition, the Irish Prime Minister reaffirmed his unwavering support for increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.

“Ireland has always supported and will always support tough sanctions against Russia to force it to end this war,” Martin emphasized.
