The history of the Crimean Tatars will be published in Ukrainian for the first time ever
With the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the ATR television channel is implementing a cultural and educational project that will see the first Ukrainian-language edition of historian Valery Vozgrin’s seminal work, *The History of the Crimean Tatars*.
The project involves continuing the translation of this four-volume study, which covers the history of the Crimean Tatar people from ancient times to the mid-20th century and is based on archival documents and scholarly sources.
In addition to publishing the book, plans include the production of a documentary film about Valery Vozgrin and his scholarly legacy, as well as the launch of a five-part television series dedicated to the history of Crimea and the Crimean Tatar people.
The translation of the book into Ukrainian began back in 2021 with the creation of an audiobook. Preparations for the second volume of the edition are currently underway.
The premiere of the first episode of the television series will take place on June 29 on the ATR television channel.

On June 26, Crimean Tatars in Ukraine and around the world celebrate Crimean Tatar Flag Day. This holiday is dedicated to one of the main symbols of the Crimean Tatar people—the blue flag with a golden tamga. For many Crimean Tatars, this flag has become not only a national symbol but also a symbol of the struggle for the right to live on their own land, preserve their culture, and honor the memory of their history.
