Changes in temperature and the gradual die-off of algae cause small fish to gather in schools and move to deeper areas, followed by predators, giving anglers the chance to catch trophy-sized fish.

During the first half of September, the relatively warm weather allows for successful fishing for both predatory and non-predatory fish in shallow waters and near the shoreline.
