A former top official at Energoatom has been charged with bribery
The former deputy general director of the “Atomenergomash” branch of JSC “NAEK “Energoatom” will stand trial. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) have completed their investigation and are charging her with soliciting and receiving an unlawful benefit of an exceptionally large amount from a representative of a contracting company.
The defendant requested monthly “commissions” from a representative of a private company in exchange for ensuring timely payment for work performed under subcontracts and for not obstructing the fulfillment of contractual obligations. The amount of the “remuneration” ranged from 10% to 15% of the cost of the work.
Between June and November 2025, the official received illicit benefits totaling approximately 1.67 million UAH (equivalent to $40,200). The total amount of the unlawful benefits she demanded exceeded 6.6 million UAH.
In September 2025, the defendant requested an unlawful benefit for herself and third parties in the amount of approximately 390,000 UAH. In exchange, she promised the company victory in open tenders, the conclusion of a contract with it, timely payment for services, and the fulfillment of contractual obligations, according to NABU.
