The relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada recommended that members of parliament vote in favor of appointing Serhiy Koretsky as Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The decision was adopted by the Committee on State Administration, Local Self-Government, Regional Development, and Urban Planning.

This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.

According to him, 19 committee members supported President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s nomination of Serhiy Koretskyi. Three others abstained.

As previously reported, on July 14, the Verkhovna Rada approved the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Along with her, the entire government automatically resigned.

On the morning of July 15, the “Servant of the People” party faction held a meeting with the candidate for Prime Minister, current CEO of the Naftogaz Group Serhiy Koretskyi, regarding his vision for the work of the Cabinet of Ministers and the structure of the future government.

That same evening, the Verkhovna Rada received the President’s proposal to appoint Koretsky as Prime Minister of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on July 16, a protest began in downtown Lviv against the dismissal of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

A protest is taking place in Kyiv against the removal of Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine, along with the entire government. More than a thousand people have gathered on the square next to the Ivan Franko Theater, not far from the Office of the President of Ukraine.
