Ukraine has named Turkey as a possible venue for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin

Ukraine supports the possibility of a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in Turkey. Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga made this statement during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

According to Sibiga, Ukraine welcomes Turkey’s efforts aimed at bringing peace closer. He called Ankara one of the world’s diplomatic capitals and highlighted its role in establishing the grain corridor and organizing a number of important international meetings.

“We advocate for Turkey to be the main venue where a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin could take place,” Sibiga stated.

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry added that the parties discussed maintaining Turkey’s active mediating role in diplomatic processes going forward.

He made these remarks during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, according to a Suspilne correspondent.

Sybiga called on allies to more quickly strip Russia of its advantage in ballistic missiles.

As a reminder, on the morning of July 11, Russian troops again attacked Kharkiv with drones. One of the drones struck a civilian facility in the Nemyshlyanskyi district of the city. According to the latest reports, seven people were injured.

In addition, Russian troops attacked Ukrnafta gas stations in the Dnipropetrovsk region for two nights in a row. Despite the damage, the company says it is doing everything possible to resume fuel supplies to residents of frontline regions as soon as possible.
