Video: Zelenskyy Met with the Turkish Foreign Minister and Presented Him with a State Award
On July 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Kyiv. During the meeting, the head of state awarded the Turkish diplomat an order for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
On Thursday, July 16, Zelenskyy met with Fidan and awarded him the Order of Merit, Second Class.
“Today we discussed the diplomatic situation and steps that could accelerate efforts to achieve peace,” he said.
The Ukrainian president also briefed the Turkish minister on the situation on the battlefield, while Fidan briefed him on diplomatic contacts at various levels.
“Of course, we also discussed bilateral relations and the implementation of the free trade agreement between Ukraine and Turkey. We expect that trade between our countries will only continue to grow,” Zelenskyy added.
As a result of a massive Russian strike on the capital, a leased humanitarian warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian Red Cross was completely destroyed; it had stored over 320,000 items of cargo and equipment with a total value of more than 79 million hryvnias.
As a result of Russian shelling and a fire at one of the capital’s enterprises, fuel and lubricants flowed into Kyrylivske Lake in Kyiv through the storm sewer system.
