The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science, and Innovation recommended that parliament adopt, in principle and in its entirety, a bill concerning the protection of the educational rights of Ukraine’s indigenous peoples and representatives of Ukraine’s national minorities (communities).
“This bill was developed to regulate the activities of classes and students studying in the languages of national minorities or indigenous peoples. The bill is balanced and was developed in collaboration with the government. It has also been agreed upon with our partners,” said Committee Chair Serhiy Babak.
According to him, the document is drafted in such a way as to safeguard Ukraine’s national interests while also granting national minorities the right to develop.
