Kravchenko explained why he signed the notice of suspicion against NABU Director Kryvonos
Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko released recordings that, according to him, involve NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. They allegedly concern the circumstances surrounding the adoption of a child and the possible establishment of grounds for exemption from criminal liability.
According to the Prosecutor General, the court established that Semen Kryvonos had committed a crime, but he allegedly avoided punishment through the fictitious adoption of a child and the subsequent use of that adoption as grounds for exemption from liability under an amnesty.
Kravchenko links these allegations to criminal proceedings in which Kryvonos and his accomplice were accused of bribing students at Kyiv National Linguistic University and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
According to information provided by the Prosecutor General, 90,000 UAH may have been spent on bribing the students.
The first part of the materials published by Kravchenko, according to him, specifically concerns the circumstances of the child’s adoption and the acquisition of what he claims is an unlawful basis for exemption from criminal liability.
The Prosecutor General links this story to Kryvonos’s subsequent career, noting that after the events described, he passed a competitive selection process involving international experts and became the head of NABU.
At the same time, Ruslan Kravchenko’s assertions regarding the circumstances of Semen Kryvonos’s past represent his personal position and require evaluation based on the complete materials of the criminal proceedings and court decisions.
The released recordings and the Prosecutor General’s statements have sparked a public debate regarding Kryvonos’s compliance with integrity criteria, particularly during his selection for a leadership position in the anti-corruption agency.
However, the presence or absence of criminal liability, the legality of the adoption, and the legitimacy of the amnesty can only be determined on the basis of relevant legal documents and court rulings.

The Anti-Corruption Center stated that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko allegedly left Ukraine after signing the notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. The Anti-Corruption Center claims that this may have been done in exchange for the opportunity to leave the country.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have denied Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s statements regarding the alleged charges against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and offers of immunity.
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos does not believe there is a conflict between the Bureau and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), though on August 10 he reported illegal actions against NABU employees. According to him, detectives are being systematically monitored, and law enforcement officials are attempting to obtain information about the progress of investigations and planned investigative actions.
In Kryvonos’s case, the commission included international representatives: Karen Greenaway, Povilas Malakauskas, and Drago Kos, who is also a relative of European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
The conditions for a new attack on NABU and the SAPO remain in place, says Kryvonos.
NABU has published new audio recordings as part of the “Midas” investigation, which reveal a large-scale kickback scheme in the energy sector.
As a reminder, Galushchenko was ordered to post bail of 200 million hryvnias.
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos stated that pressure is being exerted on the judges hearing the case of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov.
