Lubinec revealed a new human trafficking scheme involving the smuggling of men abroad for $50,000–70,000

In Zakarpattia, according to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, a new scheme has emerged for illegally smuggling conscripts across the state border.

It involves a so-called “turnkey service.” For this service, a man is allegedly required to pay between $50,000 and $70,000, after which he can be smuggled out of Ukraine directly from a minibus.

Lubinets noted that this information is currently being verified. According to him, the highest incidence of corruption is observed precisely in Transcarpathia.

The ombudsman also described other cases of possible illegal “bribes” to avoid mobilization: the TCC may demand about $10,000 just to get off the bus, and $15,000 just to leave the building.

At the same time, Lubinets stressed that the effectiveness of the TCCs should not be judged solely by the number of people mobilized. He considers a more important indicator to be how many of those subject to military service actually end up in the army after mobilization.

In the Chernihiv region, a detained deserter attempted to offer a bribe of 40,000 hryvnias.

In Kyiv, a scheme to evade mobilization involving a former official was uncovered.

The SBU and the National Police uncovered 12 mobilization evasion schemes in eight regions.
