Mykolaiv to Present Its Recovery Experience at the URC-2026 Conference in Gdańsk

Mykolaiv will share its reconstruction experience at the URC-2026 international conference on Ukraine’s recovery, to be held in Gdańsk. The city, which topped the national ranking, will present its achievements in infrastructure restoration and showcase its potential on the international stage.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych announced this on Telegram.

"The Mykolaiv territorial community took first place in Ukraine based on the results of a competitive selection process conducted by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine. Now our city will officially present its experience and potential at the international conference on Ukraine’s recovery—the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC-2026)—which will take place on June 25–26 in Gdańsk, Poland,” Senkevich wrote.

He also noted that a total of 356 communities from across the country competed for the right to participate in this prestigious international platform. Based on the evaluation results, the ministry selected the 102 best communities, and Mykolaiv topped this nationwide list.

The selection was conducted using a transparent ranking system based on five key criteria. Mykolaiv’s top ranking was the result of systematic work in areas such as a high level of investment readiness and quality of strategic planning, successful experience in international cooperation, transparency of governance processes, the application of a modern place-based approach to reconstruction, and participation in inter-municipal cooperation programs.

The conference in Gdańsk brings together heads of state and government, international financial organizations (IFOs), global business leaders, and donors. The event is focused on attracting direct investment, announcing new major partnerships, signing agreements, and launching joint projects to restore the infrastructure most affected by Russian aggression (particularly in the energy and logistics sectors).

For Mykolaiv, participation in URC-2026 is a unique opportunity to attract new large-scale funding, establish direct contacts with international partners, and accelerate the recovery and sustainable development of our community.
