The Ministry of Defense plans changes to the mobilization process and the Special Forces, — Fedorov
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov held a closed-door meeting with assault troops and infantrymen from 13 units currently carrying out combat missions on the front lines.
He announced this on Telegram.
According to the minister, the meeting was attended by sergeants and soldiers fighting in the Donetsk, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Kherson sectors.
During the discussion, the military personnel raised a number of critical issues, including the duration of their deployment at positions, the complexity of operations and movements, logistical challenges amid constant drone attacks, personnel shortages, the level of training among service members, the provision of equipment and UAVs, as well as morale and the quality of communications at the front.
“Together, we conducted a stress test of the decisions being prepared by the Ministry of Defense team for the army. Specifically, key changes in the mobilization process and the Special Forces, as well as specific approaches for assault troops and infantry regarding terms of service and pay. This will be a package of concrete projects designed to systematically change the situation,” Fedorov noted.
He added that, at the President’s instruction, joint work with the military is ongoing to strengthen the positions of Ukrainian forces and increase enemy losses.
“As directed by the President, we are working together with the military to increase Russian losses and strengthen our frontline positions,” the minister emphasized.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine began deploying a network of digital transformation specialists at all levels of the Armed Forces. Mobilized servicemen with expertise in information technology will be eligible to receive the initial officer rank of second lieutenant.
