A scheme for illegally smuggling men into the EU via Romania has been uncovered in Transcarpathia
In Kyiv and Zakarpattia, law enforcement officials uncovered a scheme to illegally smuggle men subject to military conscription abroad. The cost of the “service” was 170,000 hryvnias per person.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the organizers posted ads on Telegram channels offering assistance in leaving the country. Three Ukrainian citizens residing in Bulgaria were involved in the scheme.
The terms were as follows:
- the client paid 170,000 UAH after crossing the border;
- men were transported from Kyiv to Ivano-Frankivsk;
- then a driver transported them past checkpoints toward the border;
- the final stage involved illegally crossing the border into Romania on foot according to the provided instructions.

Law enforcement officers detained one of the participants in the scheme in Zakarpattia while attempting to smuggle three men across the border. Each of them had already paid 17,000 UAH as part of the fee.
The suspect’s actions have been classified as organizing the illegal smuggling of persons across Ukraine’s state border.
Recently, the SBU detained two aides to sitting members of parliament who are suspected of organizing schemes to evade mobilization for money. According to the investigation, they offered forged medical documents and illegal travel abroad, receiving tens of thousands of dollars in return.
Additionally, the case against blogger Spartak Subbota regarding the possible forgery of educational documents was closed because the statute of limitations for prosecution had expired.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a case was referred to court against an official of a state-owned enterprise whose actions rendered over 18,000 square meters of land unusable.
