The Ministry of Defense tested a new generation of bomber drones at the Brave1 training ground

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense conducted tests on 18 new-generation unmanned bomber prototypes, as announced by Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on March 30. 

The new models demonstrated increased payload capacity, extended flight range, and the ability to operate via secure communication channels, allowing operators to control the drones from safe positions. The primary objective of the tests was to verify the drones’ resistance to electronic warfare (EW) at a distance of 20 km, followed by target engagement and a return to base.

The designs were divided into two classes: small high-speed bombers for destroying infantry and light equipment, and heavy drones capable of carrying tens of kilograms of payload to strike fortifications and perform logistical missions. Based on the test results, some of the solutions have already been deemed ready for operation in challenging frontline conditions. In the near future, the drones will undergo combat testing, after which their serial production and delivery to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will begin. Thus, these innovative domestic solutions are expected to significantly enhance firepower and logistical capabilities on the front lines.

Recently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine certified and approved for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine three fiber-optic FPV systems manufactured by enterprises of JSC “Ukrainian Defense Industry.”

Prior to this, the Ministry of Defense had certified and authorized the domestic unmanned aerial system “Volynia” for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the Shablya MK19(M) remotely controlled combat module for use by the troops. It is equipped with an MK19 40mm automatic grenade launcher.
