The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called former Ambassador Nizhynsky’s statements false and filed a request
On July 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the remarks made by Serhiy Nizhynskyi, Ukraine’s former ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission were false. The ministry has submitted a request to the competent authorities asking for a legal assessment of these statements.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Nizhynsky’s statements false. The request to the competent authorities includes a list of his baseless allegations, which, in the ministry’s view, should be considered as misleading the Temporary Investigation Commission.
“We expect a thorough review of the request and a fair assessment of the statements made on record. The Ministry will continue to defend its reputation within the legal framework. It is unacceptable to smear Ukrainian diplomacy out of personal resentment,” the ministry emphasized, according to Ukrinform.
As a reminder, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for tougher sanctions following Russia’s attack on a tanker near Romania.
Earlier, the President of Romania announced that a tanker had been struck off the country’s coast.
Ukraine provided Romania with a response regarding the explosion of a maritime drone in Constanta.
